Eagles Bantam Team Enjoys Unforgettable Phoenix Experience
Bantam Eagles Return from Development Trip to Phoenix
The Victoria Eagles Bantam team has returned home with sun‑soaked memories, refined skills, and a renewed sense of confidence after an unforgettable development trip to Phoenix, Arizona.
Over five games against local high school programs, the Eagles posted an impressive record of four wins and one tie, showcasing strong team play and steady growth throughout the week. Beyond the scoreboard, the players gained valuable experience adapting to new opponents, new environments, and — perhaps the biggest challenge of all — a desert heatwave that pushed everyone to dig a little deeper.
A Major League Experience at Chase Field
One of the highlights of the trip came courtesy of the Arizona Diamondbacks and stadium host Lucas De Jonj, a family friend of the Meadows family and a former Victorian who rolled out the red carpet for the team.
The Eagles were treated to:
• An on‑field experience and meet and greet with the Arizona Diamondbacks
• A behind‑the‑scenes tour of Chase Field stadium
• Insight into the daily operations of a Major League ballpark and future opportunities beyond "playing" the game
The Team's off-field Manager Wendy shared "Our host Lucas De Jonj went above and beyond to make the visit special, giving the players a rare look at the big‑league environment and inspiring plenty of future dreams".
Capping It Off in Style
To top off an already incredible week, the team enjoyed a Diamondbacks spring training game from a stadium suite, taking in MLB action from the best seats in the house. It was the perfect way to celebrate a week of hard work, learning, and team bonding.
Thank You, Diamondbacks
A huge shoutout to the Arizona Diamondbacks and especially our host Lucas De Jonj for creating an unforgettable experience for our Bantam Eagles. Opportunities like this fuel passion, build confidence, and remind our players just how far the game can take them.
The Eagles returned home energized, motivated, and ready for the season ahead.
