Statement of Philosophy for Eagles Baseball
PurposeThe purpose of the High Performance Program ("Eagles Baseball") of the Greater Victoria Baseball Association is to develop and sustain a high quality program that enables young, dedicated athletes to enjoy the great game of baseball and to develop the skills, confidence and competitiveness to achieve their goals.
Guiding PrinciplesAll those individuals who are associated with Eagles Baseball will be guided by the following principles:
- a challenging and supportive culture is in place that emphasizes player, coach and team development
- a balance is struck between the spirit of the sport and the pressure to win
- a team climate is established in which players and their coaches are treated in a manner that is positive & healthy, fair, respectful and empowering
- players and coaches are of sound character, have a high level of integrity and consistently serve as good role models for others
- good sportsmanship is a core ethic
- the accomplishments of players and coaches are promoted and profiled, and opportunities are facilitated to showcase talents
- all facets of Eagles Baseball are evaluated and a focus is placed on continuous improvement.
